Welcome students and parents to my art blog. Here you can find happenings in and out of the art room, photographs of student work, and art resources. Art meets once a week for 45 minutes. Students are encouraged not to wear their best clothing, as they will get messy at times using paint or clay. However, the art room does have smocks. Students can bring in their own art smocks (a BIG T-shirt works great!) as well. I look forward to working with students in exploring creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Please visit the National Core Art Standards here.
I am an art teacher and for Region 6 Elementary Schools: Warren, Morris, and Goshen, CT. I have a passion for art and learning. I am a process oriented person. I love working with all people on various projects. My intent is to showcase student work (process + product), to share cool art sites, and to be reflective through my journey as an art teacher. Oh, by the way, the image at the top of the page is Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo's art desk from her studio, which I had the opportunity to see at the New York Botanical Gardens summer 2015.
